AP U.S. History

Yearlong Course          (Grades 11)         Credit (Social Studies)

Placement based on student ability, interest and teacher recommendation

This course designed to provide a comprehensive overview of United States history and to assist students developing the analytical skills and factual knowledge necessary to deal critically with the problems and issues this country has faced.  Students will learn to analyze and interpret primary and secondary historical records, read maps, including documentary material, maps, statistical tables and pictorial and graphic evidence of historical events.  They will debate and discuss major historical questions and formulate the course, it is imperative to keep up with the readings and work load.  Students are encouraged to take the AP test and such this course is designed to prepare students to pass the national college-level Advanced Placement Examination.
