Weight Training

Semester Course          (Grades 9-12)          Credit (P.E.)

This course will enable the student to develop overall body strength, speed, agility, and physical fitness, by using proper technique and safety guidelines.  This will be achieved through the use of weight training concepts, plyometric training, cardiovascular development, and explosive speed training.  There will also be an emphasis on the development of muscular endurance and strength.  The course will culminate with the students’ ability to develop individual workout and healthy lifestyle plans. The fitness and health aspects covered in class will be useful for helping students in maintaining healthy lifetime fitness goals.
