Geometry

Yearlong Course  Grades 9-12(Typically 10th)    Credit (Math)

Geometry uses problem situations, physical models, and appropriate technology to extend algebraic thinking and engage student reasoning. The concepts emphasized in the course include, but are not limited to, using geometric terminology and notation to describe 2-D and 3-D objects, apply properties of polygons and circles, use formulas to calculate length, angle measure, midpoint slope, area, and volume, reason proportionally and solve trigonometric equations, and use the coordinate plane to characterize geometric properties.
