Trig & Pre-Calc

Yearlong Course          Grades (11-12)          Credit (Math)

In this year long course, students will be developing new models and methods to reason as well as solve problems that confront them. They will utilize the Common core Math Practices to make connections, discover relationships, develop strategies, and explain their thinking. The typical course schedule is: 1st Semester: Algebra Review, Functions and Trigonometry, Algebra and Area Under a Curve, Polynomial and Rational Functions, Exponentials and Logarithms, and Triangles and Vectors 2nd Semester: Limits and Rates, Extending Periodic Functions, Matrices, Conics and Parametric Functions, Polar Functions and Complex Numbers, Series and Statistics, Introduction to Calculus.Learning to think critically and collaboratively as well as practicing precisely communicating your thinking are skills that will be useful in future math courses, in other parts of your high school career, and in your life.
