Honors U.S. History

Yearlong Course          (Grades 11)         Credit (Social Studies)

Placement based on student ability, interest and teacher recommendation

Students enrolled in Honors United States History at Grandview High School will study major turning points that shaped the U.S., from the post-Civil War Era through the present, including the cause and course of the two world wars.  These students will develop an understanding of historical events as they pertain to domestic and foreign relations and how these events have caused the U.S. to become what it is today.  Students will also relate events to historical, geographic, political, economic, and cultural contexts and consider multiple accounts from a variety of perspectives.  Honors United States History will rely heavily upon the students’ reading, writing, and analytical skill.
