Zero-Period Weight Training

Semester Course          (Grades 9-12)          Credit (P.E.)

1st Semester is for Fall and Winter athletes only.    2nd Semester is for Spring athletes only.

This is before the normal school bell begins. Students must have their own transportation to school. If students enroll in this class and a full normal 7 period day they are actually receiving additional credits.

 

Students will be involved in an advanced regimented weight training program, which will also include cardiovascular endurance, polymathic, speed and agility training. Grading is based on performance, effort, intensity, improvement and application of lifting knowledge. Written work relating aspects of health and fitness will be required in this course. The fitness and health aspects covered in class will be useful for helping students in maintaining healthy lifetime fitness goals.
