Yearlong Course                   (Grades 9-12)                   Credit (CTE)

Preference will be given to students who have taken IED or POE

9th Grade Students must have a teacher recommendation

Robots are now widely used in factories to perform high-precision tasks, such as welding and riveting. They are also used in special situations that would be dangerous for humans (cleaning toxic wastes, defusing bombs, etc.). In this course, we will study robots, their history and role in society. We will complete a generalized study of the various systems that make up a robot before constructing robots to complete a specific task(s). This course is an introduction into robotics as used in modern industry. Students will coordinate configurations, control systems, drive systems, and various methods of programming will be studied. Students will learn to set up and program one or more robots.
