Plant Science

Yearlong Course             (Grades 10-12)          Credit (CTE/Science)

Students will learn how to apply scientific knowledge and skills to use plants effectively for agricultural and horticultural production. Students will discover the value of plant production and its impact on the individual, the local, and the global economy.  Lessons throughout the course will provide an overview of the field of agricultural science with a foundation in plant science. These lessons include working in teams and exploring hands-on projects. Students will work on major projects and problems similar to those that plant science specialists, such as horticulturalists, agronomists, greenhouse and nursery managers, and plant research specialists, face in their respective careers Student leadership development will be an integral portion of the curriculum provided through the Grandview FFA chapter. All students enrolled in this program are encouraged to be an active GHS FFA member through activities and events held by our chapter.
